TiVo to Drop Lifetime Service Plan

TiVo has a lot going on right now. They are changing the fundamental way they do business and part of that change is by ditching the lifetime subscription option that many TiVo users have opted for. In addition to that they are setting up a few new offerings that don't require users to purchase the hardware in order to make use of the TiVo software.

I think this will be a good move in the long run and the Series 3 DVR will get more TiVo units into more living rooms.

Ma Bell redux: AT&T buys BellSouth

This announcement gets a mixed reaction from me. One one hand I want someone to compete with Time Warner in the TV arena and a large IPTV network based on Fiber is the way to do that, but on the other hand I don't want AT&T and moreso Ed Whitacre to be able to push his shitty ideas of tiered internet into place.

Don't Rob This Guy

People who rob corner stores are not really known for their high levels of intelligence, but I bet this one didn't expect to get an ass whoopin.
